Fenny began her career in 1993 with Accenture Malaysia as a management consultant. Her specialty included change management, customer relationship management, leadership development and organization design. She left Accenture in 1998 to become the HR director for Reckitt Benckiser, one of the largest household brands in the world, before being headhunted back to Accenture Singapore in 2001. After 5 years back in Accenture, Fenny felt the calling to join a nonprofit organization, World Vision and to start a family. She took 2 years off to raise a child that she and her husband adopted from Singapore, before following her husband to China on an international assignment.
When they first relocated to China in 2008, it was the start of the global financial crisis, but Fenny managed to land at IBM China as a senior managing consultant. She was responsible for the development of the Multi-National Banks’ portfolio in the Greater China Group. In 2012, the family moved to Indonesia where Fenny powered through to complete her PhD studies. In the midst of these geographical transitions, she also changed career path, reinvented herself to be an entrepreneur, trained to be an executive coach and expanded her consulting and training repertoire by establishing her own coaching practice, Coaching4Real. She started providing coaching to individuals and organizations in Indonesia and Singapore before following her husband back China again for another assignment in 2015. Fenny has published articles in People & Strategy, Journal of Global Mobility and Coaching World. She is fluent in English and proficient in Mandarin and Cantonese.
My approach to coaching
In my coaching work, I bring together my experience as a change management consultant, a cross-cultural expert and a working mother who is constantly juggling priorities. I coach executives and teams based on a systemic coaching approach and always am fascinated by how effective cognitive behavioural coaching works to affect lasting change in individuals. I consider it such a privilege to be a “Sherpa” and walk alongside clients as they find their mission in life that influence their very being at the workplace, and to help them live out their mission.
My coaching and life motto is to illuminate, inspire and nurture people and myself to be the best versions of ourselves, to live abundantly.
