Uma Arora is the founder member of Idam Learning, an organization committed to working with individuals and enterprises in order to create learning opportunities in the domain of change, adaptability, personal growth and leadership. Uma has rich experience in leading highperforming teams in the area of Education, Information Technology, Academic Testing and Business Process Outsourcing Organizations. Her passion for people development led her to switch roles from business to education and training. She is an accredited MBTI Trainer and an associate member of ISABS. She has certifications in ‘Building leadership through Appreciative Inquiry’ and ‘Organization Development theories and practices’ from National Training laboratory, US. She has been trained in ‘change management’ by Edgar Schein. She is also certified in Spiral Dynamics which is a tool for understanding individual and organizational growth. Drawing upon her rich experience in the areas of business management, psychological testing and education, IT training and sales, she brings an interdisciplinary, facilitative and result oriented approach to training and coaching. Professional Background and Experience (Business Roles):Uma’s work experience ranges from new business launches, setting up franchise networks, software services, sales, country operations management, setting up of resourcing function to leadership development and training. At Uptron, she was part of a team that was responsible for launching Uptron Education as a new business line and developing a network of franchisees to promote computer education in smaller towns. At Aptech, she led the Northern region team that launched the high end IT training initiative called ‘Asset’ (Aptech School for Software Education technology). She headed the project to launch the Computer based version of TOEFL in India as Country Operations Head of Sylvan Prometric. She had an exposure to Training and HR in a fast paced BPO environmentwhen she led the initiative to set up the Resourcing function to take care of the high growth needs of Daksh, which is now a part of IBM. Coaching and Facilitation Experience:1. She conceptualized, designed and conducted personal growth programs based on MBTI for top 300 people in Daksh (now a part of IBM)2. She has designed soft skills based interventions for improving ‘customer experience’ in BPO and other services environments.
