Action Learning, a form of small group coaching, is a dynamic process that coaches can use to assist leaders and organisations to challenge the status quo, and to develop creative, flexible, and successful strategies. Action Learning positions inquiry at the core of organisational behaviour, develops critical thinking and creates mutual respect among employees at all levels.
The simple rules in Action Learning facilitate critical thinking and collaborative working, helping leaders solve problems while developing them. Essentially, an Action Learning Coach assists people to reflect, beyond their problem solving, to how they elevate their group functioning and their leadership skills.
At this Power Hour, you can observe or participate in a demonstration of action learning with a small group with the following take-aways:
- Learn a structured way of coaching a team using the World International Action Learning (WIAL) Action Learning Process.
- Learn about how to create a space for the team to ask reflective questions and exercise attentive listening.
- Learn how to incorporate leadership competencies with the use of questions.
About the speaker:
Ng Choon Seng is a Leadership Coach and Professional Facilitator. He has more than 30 years of corporate and leadership experience in the areas of human resources, organization development and coaching & facilitation. Choon Seng is the only Certified Master Action Learning Coach in Singapore and has facilitated Action Learning Coaching programs for many organizations in Singapore and around the world. As part of his methodology, Choon Seng brings out the best in people, focusing on their strengths and solutions.
