Coaching the Dark Side

Important Update: This webinar has been moved to 27 March 2024.

A webinar with Krista Pederson and Ginny Wong on Wednesday, 27 March 2024, 7PM – 8:30PM SG/HK time.

Many assessment tools and coaching programs focus on highlighting and developing the strengths and positives of an individual. Hogan’s approach, however, is not only to learn about a leader’s strengths, but more importantly to focus on the areas where they may go wrong: the “Dark Side”. Hogan’s research indicates that the most effective leaders are self-aware about their dark-side tendencies or derailers, and proactively develop strategies to avoid and develop their shortcomings.

This presentation discusses how to use the Hogan Development Survey as a highly effective coaching tool by supporting coachees in developing awareness around their dark sides and offering practical strategies for encouraging coachees to avoid the behaviors that will cause them to fail. Finally, the presentation will share a few case studies of how coaches have helped coachees succeed by focusing on coaching the dark side.

3 Key Takeaways

  1. Participants will learn how to use the Hogan Development Survey as a highly effective coaching tool
  2. Coaches will learn practical strategies for how to coach leaders to avoid problematic behaviors that cause them to be ineffective
  3. Case studies on how to help talent succeed by coaching their dark side
